Leadership Opportunity: Dean and Chief Academic Officer of Osteopathic Medical School

M3 Executive Search is proud to assist the Philadelphia College of Medicine (PCOM) with their national search for a progressive academic physician executive who can also serve as the Dean and Chief Academic Officer for their College of Osteopathic Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. This is in an opportunity for an innovative leader to play a pivotal role in leading the College’s continued growth in developing new programs to educate students for challenging and meaningful medical careers.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate will be a proven leader who can quickly gain an understanding of the strengths of PCOM and help chart its course for continued success and growth. PCOM seeks candidates who have unquestioned integrity, significant emotional intelligence, and a collaborative and collegial leadership style. The Dean and CAO will be dedicated to the principles of diversity, inclusion, and equity and will be committed to PCOM’s efforts in community engagement. The Dean and CAO must have a bold vision of the future role of academic medicine in a global society, the selected person will have a record of scholarly achievements and demonstrated excellence in academic health and clinical administration. A successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

  • DO degree, AOA certified residency and specialty board certification
  • More than twelve years of experience as a Dean, Associate Dean, Assistant Dean or Chair of an academic unit at a college of osteopathic medicine, allopathic medicine, military, or public health facility
  • Demonstrated personal and professional commitment to valuing diversity and promoting inclusion by modeling and fostering diversity and cultural proficiency
  • Superior track record in building and/or contributing to collaborative team cultures
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written
  • Commitment to being highly visible to the greater Philadelphia and Tri-State region.
