Director of Anesthesia Services

The Medicus Firm Executive Search is proud to represent one of the nation's largest and most respected providers of Gastroenterology services in their national search for a Director of Anesthesia Services. This executive will be a highly visible leader, responsible for the Anesthesia operation. The organization has experienced fast growth, focused on expanding access to high-quality, cost-effective gastroenterology services with over 200 providers, 950 employees, 29 locations, and 17 ambulatory surgery centers.

This role is an excellent opportunity for a leader who is highly strategic and can engage in the details to build and develop a world-class anesthesia function for a fast-growing organization.

The Director of Anesthesia will be a highly visible leader within the organization and will direct the day-to-day operations of the $20+Million Anesthesia Services Division. This Leader will oversee the scheduling of anesthesia staff for all locations and ensures that staffing levels are appropriate.

Other highlights of the role include:

  • In coordination with Medical Director of Anesthesia, develops department policies and procedures.
  • In coordination with Medical Director of Anesthesia develops and implement protocols to ensure the delivery of high-quality patient care.
  • Assists credentialing department and Endoscopy Center administrators with collection of requested information for credentialing of anesthesia providers.
  • Meets with vendors to learn about products and services; obtains product information used in making purchase recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 5+ years' experience related anesthesia or ambulatory surgery department experience. Must have functioned in a supervisory capacity for a minimum of three years.
  • Experience driving results through matrixed relationships, as well as experience managing relationships with third party service providers.
  • Entrepreneurial drive and the demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a dynamic environment.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit to establish something new and to grow professionally as the organization expands and matures.
