Leadership Opportunity – Chief of Cardiology


M3 Executive Search is proud to represent this regional academic health system in its national search for a Chief of Cardiology.

The new Chief will have a strong record of clinical and academic leadership in cardiology. As an academic and education leader, the new Chief will lead the division in successful training and evaluation of learners, as well as mentoring and sponsoring residents interested in a career in adult cardiovascular disease.

Highlights include:
  • Leading a division of 13 cardiologists who are supported by dedicated advanced practitioners and nursing staff.
  • Division is part of an integrated Department of Cardiovascular Sciences, comprised of cardiology, cardiothoracic surgery, vascular surgery, cardiovascular imaging, and pediatric cardiac care.
  • Regional Heart Institute with an outpatient center and a 120-bed specialty hospital with dedicated ORs, 13 interventional labs, and other exceptional technology resources, including robotic-assisted surgery.
  • The institute’s research capabilities feature clinical trials to develop new techniques, treatments, and devices for cardiovascular care.

The desired candidate must have excellent clinical skills/judgment and be recognized within academic Cardiology. As a leader, they must demonstrate the ability to influence and manage with high emotional intelligence. The new chief will have a superior track record in building and/or contributing to collaborate team cultures. They will also need to articulate a compelling vision and implement a strategy that engages and advocates for faculty, staff, and students alike.

A successful candidate should possess an MD, MD/Ph.D., or equivalent degree; he/she will be expected to qualify for appointment at the rank of Associate or Full Professor.
